These steamers are designed for use on digitally printed fabrics, and are not designed for industrial steaming of fabric rolls, such as those used on large textile mills.

There are two main types of steamers available:
- Tube steamers, which require the full roll to be loaded on the steam chamber, be it 1 or several yards.
- Roll to Roll steamers, that can continuosly steam rolls without having to open the machine to load the steam chamber with a new roll.
Tube steamers tend to be more economical, and ideal for short yardage or testing environments. Wherer the Roll to Roll steamers are ideal for actual production of digitally printed fabric.
